Praat remote control

The functions transcripts_openin_praat(), search_openresult_inpraat() and search_searchandopen_inpraat() open a transcript in the TextGrid editor of Praat, with its sound and a selected time range. They remote control Praat with a Praat script.

The path to Praat

act looks for Praat in the usual places when it is loaded (/Applications/Praat.app on macOS, the program folders on Windows, the PATH on Linux). Elsewhere, set the path once:

options(act.path.praat = "/Applications/Praat.app")      # macOS
options(act.path.praat = "C:/Program Files/Praat.exe")    # Windows

Praat (version 6.1 or later) receives the script through its own command line option --send. If Praat is not running, it is started. Nothing else needs to be installed; the separate program sendpraat is no longer used.

Praat (ab Version 6.1) erhält das Skript über seine eigene Kommandozeilenoption --send. Läuft Praat nicht, wird es gestartet. Es muss nichts weiter installiert werden; das separate Programm sendpraat wird nicht mehr benutzt.
